Lu Flux – Luxury for a New Age of Austerity

Summer is here! – Let’s all become beautiful magpies in a dream of a whimsical summer dress or Anne of Green Gables pinafore to break hearts and turn heads by British newcomer, and arch princess of luxe reinvention, Lu Flux. I swear it won’t be long before her extraordinary, extrovert, happy clothes find their way into the hallowed halls of Liberty, my  favourite emporium for exceptional British fashion talent.

Lu grew up in a Roud, a tiny hamlet on the Isle of Wight, and her love of nature meanders all over her verdant, flower- sprigged, girlish dresses, slouchy, colourful, treasure-trove cardigans and the most feminine dungarees you will ever lay eyes on. Her colorful, kaleidoscopic collection hints at an Alice Through The Looking Glass approach to getting dressed, and invariably, features a tree, a house, or a charming pastoral scene. This collection is full of vintage nostalgia. Then, best of all, there is this season’s quintessential print! A delicious pale toile de jouy, reminiscent of crisp blue and white china.

A Lu Flux creation is no one season wonder, and could only ever be very carefully handmade made at her London outpost in London’s East End. These are remarkable pieces to love, maybe climb trees in, and cherish forever. The other very important thing you should know is that the quality and attention to detail is second to none.
