Special Announcement: Happy Birthday Alison

by Alison Jane Reid on October 17, 2009

The consort referred to in these pages as His Majesty has cracked the Ethical-Hedonist’s master-password and hacked into the website in order to post this birthday greeting to Alison.

The chefs at The Indian Dining Club are preparing a Birthday Banquet this evening, so she’ll be whisked off to the farmer’s market to choose some delicious fresh fish for them to cook; to select some of the tastiest vegetables you will ever encounter from the bio-dynamic Perry Court Farm; and to pass several tantalising minutes in delectable agony trying to choose not one, but two, of the mouthwateringly scrumptious cakes made by Miss Lara Cakehole.

A full report on the Birthday Expedition will appear later, to launch The Ethical-Hedonist’s guide to Free (and Nearly-Free) London; a compendium of the best places I have visited over the last four decades, with tips on what to see and do nearby, and how to make to most of your Expedition.

Pictured: Alison at one of the largest sculptures in London, a two-story high bronze of the bows of a boat that appears to burst through the foyer of the International Maritime Organisation onto the pavement of the Albert Embankment. Take a camera and have fun south of the River!
